    Somatic Dance-Movement for groups can be a stand alone event (workshop series) without any extra inclusions, or expanded to include cultural activities and excursions, accommodation, meals and transport in collaboration with co-hosts.

  • RETREAT LEADER

    Helen is a Somatics & Dance-Movement Therapist, multi-disciplinary Movement Coach, and life-long mover. Her credentials and experience include Dance-Movement Therapy amongst a spectrum of exciting movement disciplines. Helen brings artistry, playfulness and diverse perspectives into the therapeutic movement space that she holds for others.

  • Programs can be adapted to longer or shorter retreat events in collaboration with co-hosts.

    Retreats can be scheduled for 1 day minimum or multiple days.

    Sample Schedule for a 4 day retreat :

    12 hours total of movement exploration, split over 8 progressive workshops, 2 x 90 min experiential workshops daily.

    Daily workshop timetable:

    10:30am - 12:00pm - movement experiential session 90 minutes

    12:00 - 1:30pm - lunch break, rest, recovery and reflection

    1:30 - 3:00pm - movement experiential session 90 minutes

  • All adult movers welcome, including absolute beginners, from 16 years. No movement experience necessary, just a curiosity to explore and move.

    Sessions offer and may hold therapeutic value, and are also intended as artistic practice to promote holistic wellbeing.

PRIVATE SESSIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS ON RETREAT

Immersive psychotherapeutic treatment for individual guests who are staying for 3-5 days, with 2 x 75 min sessions each day. Clients benefit from a significant amount of therapy (equivalent to 6-10 weeks), in a relaxing environment, which supports safety, feeling at ease, focus, reflection, and therapeutic processing and integration.

All treatment plans also include a further series of 5 x weekly 75 minute virtual sessions, scheduled over 5 consecutive weeks. These sessions continue from the in-person sessions, focussing on supporting the client after their retreat stay.

An opportunity towards embodiment, playfulness, effort, awareness, acceptance and joy. These events invite movers to explore more deeply within the therapeutic movement space. No movement experience is required, just a curiosity to move and explore. Suitable for rehab programs, artist residencies, educational events, corporate teams and holiday makers.

PRACTICE AND SELF REGULATION

​​Movement practice will draw upon a mix of methodologies, techniques and skills with a sustainable balance between structured learning and guided and self directed improvised movement. ​Self regulation for participation at your own pace and level, will be emphasised and integral, especially as you will be invited to move at the edges of your comfort zone.

All workshops use Somatics and Dance-Movement Therapy, and support a deep immersive experience. Dance-Movement Therapy is an arts psychotherapy providing a pathway to connect body, mind and well-being using a somatic, conceptual and creative approach to movement. Dance-Movement Therapy principles facilitate giving physical shape and form to human thoughts, emotions and life experience.
